Agriculture Energy Efficiency Program
Agriculture is a major economic driver of the economy for Worcester County, with poultry production playing a key role. Worcester County is the 2nd largest county in Maryland for poultry production, with Maryland being the 8th leading production state in the United States. Worcester County produced an estimated $185,771,000 in agricultural sales in 2010.
The Kathleen A.P. Mathias Agriculture Energy Efficiency Program provides grants up to 75 percent of cost to farms/businesses in the agriculture sector for energy efficiency upgrades, after all other incentives have been applied.
