A Naturally Bright Education in Worcester County

Worcester County’s renowned public education system is comprised of 14 exceptional schools serving 6,500 students. Nine are designated National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education. The school system is ranked #3 in the state of Maryland. The County also has five private schools. There are three higher education institutions located in close proximity: University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Princess Anne), Salisbury University and Wor-Wic Community College (Salisbury).


Snow Hill High School is located in Snow Hill, Maryland. Kim Purvis has been the principal there now for 7 years, prior to being principal, she was the assistant principal for 4 years. Under her guidance, there are 340 students and their school is recognized as a 5-start school; the only one in Worcester County and one of only two on the Eastern Shore.
